A full field trip lasts 2 to 3 hours, and includes a tour and a workshop activity.
An abbrievated field trip lasts 60-90 minutes and includes only the tour portion.

Guided Tour

Pathway 1: Seed to Plate
This lesson teaches students about food system interconnectedness, covering the journey from farm to table - including growing, processing, and distribution. It explores how food production, distribution, consumption, and waste management connect, while emphasizing sustainability, equity, and health considerations throughout. Tour stops: vermicompost station, greenhouse, hoophouse, garden beds, kitchen, cold storage, microscope lab.

Enjoy the flavors of the farm with a snack that features our harvest.
Workshops
(60 minutes)
DIY Popcorn Bar
Students will make popcorn using locally, regeneratively grown corn kernels from Red Tail Grains, then get the chance to season it using a variety of spices made from the farm's harvest.
Soil Microscopy Lab
Students will collect samples of vermicompost and examine under the microscope to look for signs of a complete soil food web.
